The EU Data Act (Regulation (EU) 2023/2854), effective September 12, 2025 (the “EU Data Act”), introduces harmonized rules on fair access to and use of data across the EU. It gives customers of connected products and digital services more control over the data they generate and establishes rules for data portability and switching between cloud or data processing providers.
This notice explains how Talon. One supports compliance with the EU Data Act, including how customers can access and port their data, what contractual commitments apply, and how we ensure data governance and security.
The EU Data Act aims to create a fair and innovative data economy by:
Giving users the right to access and share the data they generate.
Requiring service providers to enable customers to switch providers more easily.
Preventing unfair terms in data sharing agreements.
Stimulating innovation and improving services through broader data availability.
To the extent the services provided to our customers are subject to the EU Data Act, the terms of the Talon. One EU Data Act Addendum, available here, will be incorporated by reference into the customer’s Terms and Conditions.
